Iskandra, the gorgon of the Watch

As promised, here are the illustrations for my fanfic A Gorgon in the City Watch, where you can see the main character of my fic, the gorgon Iskandra (I invented a feminine form for Iskander, the name of Alexander of Macedonia in Orient: I didn't want to call her Medusa). I had the idea of this character after reading Unseen Academicals where a gorgon working in the Watch is briefly evoked.

The link to read this fanfic:

The third drawing is my first satisfying sketch for the character, as you can see she's not wearing the sunglasses she'll have on her nose most of the time not to turn people into stone. The snakes were the worst to do, I hope they don't look bad.

The first drawing is a scene from my fanfic where some drunkard has the stupid idea to bother her in the inn where she stopped on her way to Ankh-Morpork, she's hiding her true nature at that moment since she's wearing a hood. Sorry for the table and bar stool, I'm not used to draw furniture.

Finally, in the middle you can see her as an agent of the Watch in uniform, ready to patrol in the Night Watch.

Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me, the Discworld and all his characters, the gorgon included, come from the genius mind of Terrry Pratchett, and he's the one getting paid for this, not me.

I really like her. Her name is very good. And the sunglasses make her look a bit of a badass.

Glad you like her. About the sunglasses it's more of a necessity for her in her interactions with humans or any other species (a watchman, well woman here, turning everyone to stone would not be well accepted), but it does look good on her. I'll submit as soon as I can an illustration of the scene where we heard about the gorgon in "Unseen Academicals": she has incidentally turned three people to stone because a gust of wind took her sunglasses away.
